Real Wild Foods Gift Basket - sweet threesome
price: $49.00

This sweet gift basket of Real Wild Foods specialty items includes a bottle of Wild Rose Petal Syrup, Wild Blackberry Preserves, and Wild Lingonberry Preserves.  The basket is accompanied with recipes.

About the products included in this basket:

Wild Rose Petal Syrup: This luscious syrup is made from the five-petal wild rose.  A half-pound of these delicate and fragrant petals requires almost two hours of patient harvesting work.  The wild rose produces a delectable treat that can be used in baking by adding to a cake mix or drizzled on ice cream or yogurt.  A tablespoon added to fruit salad gives it an unforgettable bouquet.  It is also delicious on crepes or waffles.

Wild Blackberry Preserves: Wild blackberries grow across most of North America.  Plump and juicy, they are a breakfast favorite and one of our better-known berries.  Their rich flavor also makes them suitable for desserts or for cooking with meat or fowl.  Enjoy our Blackberry Preserves on toast, ice cream, yogurt, or added to fruit salads.

Wild Lingonberry Preserves:  Wild lingonberries are also called mountain cranberries and partridgeberries.  They are a spectacular fruit that many prefer to cranberries, as they are naturally sweeter.  Use Lingonberry Preserves to compliment meat, chicken, and turkey dishes as well as to spread on toast or sweeten plain yogurt.
Real Wild Foods Gift Basket - savory threesome
price: $49.00

This savory gift basket of Real Wild Foods specialty items includes a bag of Wild Forest Mushroom Mix, a jar of Cedar Jelly, and a bottle of Saskatoon Mustard.  The basket is accompanied with recipes to encourage your enjoyment of these wondrous goodies.

About the products in this basket:

Wild Forest Mushroom Mix contains an exceptional combination of wild mushrooms to provide a rich complexity of flavors.  Varieties include chanterelle, porcini, black trumpet, matsutake, and velvet shank.  Dried wild mushrooms add excellent flavor to soups, sauces, stews, and gravies, adding richness to these dishes.  Dried wild mushrooms are typically much stronger in flavor than fresh mushrooms, which makes them economical to use.

Cedar Jelly is derived from the leaves of the Eastern White Cedar.  It has a hearty flavor and is very versatile.  Aboriginal peoples used cedar needles as a tea, while chefs use Cedar Jelly as a glaze on salmon and other fish to impart the taste of being roasted on a cedar board.

Saskatoon Mustard is made from saskatoon berries.  Saskatoons are scrumptious berries harvested from the prairies of Canada and taste similar to wild blueberries.  In areas where they are abundant, saskatoons are often used in pies.  Slow cooked, they gain a unique, almond-like after-taste.  This mustard provides a complex, rich flavor to spice up a roast beef or ham and cheese sandwich.  It is also excellent basted on BBQ chicken or as an addition to salad dressings.

Oregon Grape Jelly:  Oregon grapes are not actually grapes, but are berries related to barberries that grow along the Pacific Coast.  An Oregon grape tastes like a sharp wild grape and provides a tantalizing original flavor in glazes or sauces for fowl or game.  It is also splendid as a spread on your breakfast toast or as a flavor enhancer with other fruits.

Jellied Elderberry: This jelly is made from the juice of the blue-black berries of wild elderberry plants that grow in near-marshy ground in many areas of Eastern Canada.  With its distinctive taste, Elderberry Jelly has long been a favorite among Canadians who live in the regions where wild elderberry grows.  Now you, too, can savor this unique jelly as a condiment for meats, a flavoring in gravies and sauces, and experience its zest on freshly baked bread or toast.
